So here's the third instalment of this yearly post series, whose goal is to make  good recommendations  to people living in or coming to Barcelona with beer thirst. Since I have never liked to give my personal tastes too much importance when writing, I came up with the idea to make a selection of good local beer according to the taste of people I trust. Hence, two years ago the  Barcelona Beer Locals' Choice  was born - you can read more about how I organise the whole thing in the tab 'What to drink in Barcelona', from the menu above -. All right, so here we are again. Today I bring you the second post on this yearly series I started just last year, in order to make  good recommendations  to people living / coming to Barcelona with beer thirst. Since I have never liked to give my personal tastes too much importance when writing (i.e. no rating, no ranking) I came up with the idea to make a selection of good local beer, according to people I trust. Hence, the  Barcelona Beer Locals' Choice  - you can read more about how I organise the whole thing in the tab 'What to drink in Barcelona', from the menu above -. "BBLC 2016 comprises a list of 21 local beers, carefully selected by trusted local drinkers".

No, I've never been very keen on those "best beers to try before you die" compilations. Nor do I like to publish beer ratings or rankings: the greatness of beer depends on far too many things, and I don't really want to give my tastes some kind of definitive superior status. But even when I frown and permanently wrinkle my brow at this kind of stuff, I must admit that it sometimes can be useful. Let's put an example. Imagine you're travelling to Barcelona -yay!- and you want to try some of the local beers on offer. Maybe you're one of those adventurous drinkers who would try anything they find. Good luck, lad. Or, maybe you'd love to have some local perspective, suggestions on which beers you should really try to find and drink, given that your time, money and liver productivity are actually finite.
